Watch video here: How to pass the CAPM
Transcript
In this video, I’m sharing what I used to pass the CAPM.
What you’ll need to be qualified: High school diploma and 23 hours of project management education or exam contact hours. Qualifications

To earn the PDUs, take one of these courses on PDUs. After you complete the course, download the certificate to upload it to the PMI website.
I used Joseph Phillips, but you could try Andrew from TIA Education.
I used Joseph Phillips courses to study:
- CAPM Exam Prep Seminar https://www.udemy.com/course/capm-pmbok6
- CAPM Exam Cram Session https://www.udemy.com/course/capm-exam-cram-session-pmbok6/
Some other resources I used were:
- Ricardo Vargas Explains the PMBOK® Guide 7th Edition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVlrxOQoSUw
- The Complete Project Management Body of Knowledge in One Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gmCr40uT4U
- Project Management: Practice Questions for the CAPM Exam https://amzn.to/3ACuxiA
- Download the free PMP & CAPM Prep Pack https://www.projectprep.org/
- Memorize PMP and CAPM formulas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD15S_61lwI
- How to Memorize PMP Exam Formulas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZP4DfnS0KA
- How to create PMP FORMULAS BRAIN DUMP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psu3ZfwIf1Q
One thing I did was write the 49 processes on index cards and review them daily. Use the ITTO notecards from the Prep Pack.
After you pass, you’ll need to earn PDUs to keep it active.
You can take courses on Udemy – the ones that say earn PDUs. There are also courses on LinkedIn Learning and PMI itself.
Volunteer as a project manager to gain experience and PDUs.
There’s 48in48 48in48.org. I’ve been volunteering since 2019, and it’s always a good time. You don’t have to be an expert. They’ll help you through the whole process.
Also, Taproot https://taprootfoundation.org/volunteers/, Catchafire https://www.catchafire.org/volunteers.
